Multiplayer Comics™
Hey everyone! I'm Chewy, the founder of Multiplayer Comics™ by Multic.
Why does Multiplayer Comics™ exist?
I created Multiplayer Comics because I was sick of seeing two things: doomscrolling alone and AI DND/slop generators.
Multiplayer Comics is "Interactive Fiction" or Choose Your Own Adventure stories from your childhood, redesigned for 2026. It's designed to be a human-centric social, engaging doomscrolling experience with your friends and strangers.
I want to accelerate the failure of the current state of AAA Movies and Gaming corporations, and increase the quality of AI content.
I believe the most engaging and creative formats for storytelling right now are comics, gaming and scroll-feeds for delivery. Multiplayer Comics exists because no platform combines them all.
What are Multiplayer Comics™ (Multics)?
Multiplayer Comics are a recipe for modular AI-based content which doesn't suck AND is engaging for more than 5 minutes.
The general premise is that humans will create the hard part of art (genuinely engaging stories with beautiful art and attention to detail) whilst AI fills in the blanks, to create multiplayer experiences which are novel and weren't possible in a pre-AI world.
As better models come out across all mediums, and as communities suggest improvements for your story/experience, you will be able to update Multics.
This sets itself apart from traditional static media (movies, printed comics) and retains the best parts of those formats, but gives what makes games so fantastic to experience in the long term.
Multic as a company intends to position itself like Steam, as a platform/enabler and publisher to make creating and distributing these stories easy. It should also free-up artists and derisk the act of creating meaningful, soulful human-led content.
How will Multic make money?
- No adverts on the platform. Advertising whilst experiencing media is a sin (looking at you "AE").
- Multic will charge small percentage-based distribution fees, similar to UE's royalty system.
- Generating content costs AI GPU time; as this goes down over time, and On-Device AI becomes a thing, content will get cheaper and better for consumers.
- If you generate no AI content on the platform, you won't be charged any AI fees.
- Every reader and page turned in your Multic will be pro-rata shared between the creators (team) of the Multic, plus platform fee.
- The consensus is that engrossing stories will encourage more dynamic generation for stories "off the beaten track", and thus reward creators (both players and writers) and can even be interwoven into existing stories to upgrade them.
- Making stories which encourage exploration and unique, complex and thoughtful decisions will be worth more in a system like this.
What should I create?
I'm expecting a lot of people from gaming, comics, DnD, Silly Tavern, 18+ and AI communities.
Feel free to share your thoughts, improvements, or questions about Multiplayer Comics and how I can do better. You have a chance to direct the next decade of this era of creation.
